Lao Ceremony“Baci” meaning "calling of the soul" is an important ceremony practiced in Lao culture and Northern and Isan Thai culture. Baci is a phi ritual used to celebrate important events and occasions, like births and marriages and also entering the monkhood, departing, returning, beginning a New Year, and welcoming or bidding etc. The ritual of the Baci involves tying strings around a person’s wrist to preserve good luck, and has become a national custom.

Lao DanceOur dance show include not only our popular dancing style, but also some traditional or ethnic dancing styles.
There are a lot of ethnic groups in Lao, and they each have their own traditional dancing and music. In the performance show, children usually perform about 5 dancing styles which include: Hmong Dance, Khamu Dance, and Lao Dance, etc. |
Epock ShowThe original Epock puppet performances were aerated over 100 years ago. Every year, before the full moon in December the That luang festival takes place. This is a celebration festival to commemorate the victory of King Sayasetthatirath.
However, unfortunately during the war, the performances ware stopped many times. In 2000, UNICEF and in 2015 JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) understood the significance of the Epock puppet performances in Luangorabang and supported to create an Epock puppet program at the Children's Cultural Center. |
